Maui Jim held a series of UK roadshows this week to inform practitioners on its strategy and marketing plans for 2014, give an update on its prescription programme and introduce the Zeal Optics brand.
At a well-attended opening event at the Radisson Hotel, near Heathrow, Martijn van Eerde, Maui Jim international marketing manager refuted any acquisition link with Luxottica (News 07.03.14). ‘There is no deed done, no serious conversation going on. The story is not true. Luxottica is a very big account for us and we have a good relationship, but we are privately owned and have no mind to let go of it.’
