Menicon UK and David Thomas Contact Lenses have launched the Rose K2 Soft daily wear contact lens for the irregular cornea.
The new lens is available as a three-month replacement lens when manufactured from silicone hydrogel materials or a six-month or 12-month lens, in the hydrogel material option.
Primary indications for prescribing are intolerance to gas-permeable lenses, new contact lens wearers with irregular corneas, early-to-moderate irregular corneas, or conditions where the environment may be unsuitable for gas-permeable wear, such as sporting applications.
The new lens uses the same five-step fitting method used in all Rose K designs and features an aspheric back optic zone, front surface toricity and front surface aberration control for optimal visual acuity.
