
Following a two-year pandemic induced suspension, Metro Blind Sport announced the reopening of their 44th Annual Athletics Open.
The event provided blind and partially sighted people with free sports opportunities and has incorporated a comprehensive track and field programme ranging from the 60m sprint to 5,000m, as well as high and long jump, shot put, discus and javelin.
As the Invictus Games 2022 continue, it's a prominent time to highlight gateways for athletes with disabilities to start a professional career.
Rules for the Annual Athletics Open are set by a team of qualified officials by the UK Athletics and International Blind Sports Association.
