Mido attracts overseas visits

A bustling Mido exhibition in Milan last weekend welcomed an increased number of visitors and exhibitors.

Show organisers reported a 5 per cent rise in visitors to 45,000 during the three-day event, with 25,000 of them travelling to Italy from overseas.

There were also 100 more exhibitors at the Fieramilano exhibition centre compared to last year.

UK exhibitor Peter Beaumont, director at Dunelm Optical, said: ‘Dunelm enjoyed yet another great show at Mido this year. Orders were up double on last year, and we opened up four new countries – meaning we now export to 48 countries worldwide. Mido was proof, if it’s needed, that things are definitely picking up in Europe. We’re now looking forward to a successful Optrafair in April.’
