Optometry Scotland held its first annual dinner since its March 2004 launch last week at the Scottish Parliament building.

Fifty members of OS and guests attended the event, sponsored by JanisScottish Ministers Hughes MSP, including health minister Andy Kerr and his deputy, Lewis Macdonald and finance minister Tom McCabe.

OS chairman Frank Munro thanked Hughes for her personal sponsorship. 'We are obviously extremely pleased that three Scottish Executive Ministers have been able to attend. This marks a real coming of age for OS and is, I believe, an important milestone in our partnership with the Scottish Executive as we seek to deliver a world-class eye care service to the people of Scotland.'
