Mirror coat comes in 27 combinations

Optimum Coatings of Chorley, Lancashire has launched a new mirror coating process, OptiMirror, in addition to its anti-reflection and hard coating of ophthalmic lenses.

The new range of mirror coatings adds to the company's line for plastic, polycarbonate and glass ophthalmic lenses. The OptiMirror process offers as standard a choice of 27 combinations of full or flash mirror coatings and different densities of background mono tints, all including a UV block. There is a further choice of graduated or rainbow tints. David Birt, managing director said, 'Optimum Coatings is continually seeking ways to manufacture coatings which not only offer good protection but are also hardwearing and attractive, keeping up with the latest fashions. Our investment in the latest technology mirror process was in response to a market demand from people wanting stylish, fashionable mirrored glasses Ð even with prescription lenses.' The company added that, as well as providing wearers with a sleek and stylish look, for playing sport, travelling or wearing on the beach, the OptiMirror process delivered protection from glare with a UV block. The tint incorporates an 'easy care' top coat that repels dust, water and oil. Along with a durable hardcoating and the option to have an OPtiMAR XL antireflection coating on the back surface, the company said that it was confident the OptiMirror process would be well received.
