UK eyewear designer Andrew Actman finished second in class in the recent Lombard Revival Rally 2005.
Driving his new 1,300cc Daihatsu Sirion, which was stripped down to comply with rally regulations, Actman joined 140 competitors over a challenging 1,200 mile route around England and Wales.
The rally gave motorsport enthusiast Actman the opportunity to take part in an event that is classed as 'the real thing' for cars that have been standardised with limited modifications to give the opportunity for driving skills, experience and determination to 'come out on top'.
'Concentration, confidence and rapport with your car and of course the will to succeed are essential,' he said.
In 2004 Actman won the BARC Austin Healey Championship in his Austin Healey Sebring Sprite and last year he completed the 2005 London to Dakar Rally.
