Motability Foundation and RNIB partner on transport services

The Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) and the Motability Foundation have partnered to explore innovative ways of improving transport journeys for people living with sight loss.

The three-year partnership will see both organisations share their expertise and work collaboratively to develop and trial new accessible transport solutions.

These will be codesigned with blind and partially sighted people as well as involving other organisations, transport providers and disability groups.

Jim Sanders, RNIB’s director of innovation, said: ‘We know that not being able to get out and about independently can have a huge impact on the lives of blind and partially sighted people. That’s why this partnership is so important.’

Nicola Gampell, innovation manager at the Motability Foundation, added: ‘We hope that by working together, we can find some exciting ways of utilising new technology and make journeys more accessible for all.’
