Mozambique president Armando Guebuza visits Irish optometry centre

President Armando Guebuza of Mozambique attended the National Optometry Centre at the Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT) earlier this month during a State Visit.

Through funding from Irish Aid, DIT’s optometry department has led the Mozambique Eyecare Project, establishing the first programme of optometry education in Mozambique, at the University of Lurio.

Professor James Loughman, the project’s lead, presented a photographic exhibition of the project to Guebuza, who was also greeted by Eva Doyle, head of DIT department of optometry and Declan Hovenden, head of the national optometry centre at DIT.
