MP for Plymouth Oliver Colville was invited to visit a local practice by the Devon Local Optical Committee and the Optical Confederation.
He was a guest at Specsavers, Armada Way, on April 3. Optometrist Winnie Maina showed Colville around the practice and explained how digital retinal cameras helped detect and manage conditions such as diabetes and high blood pressure. Enhanced services such as glaucoma monitoring were also discussed.
