Multiple lobbies for new eyewear emoji

News that a broader range of glasses-wearing emoji could be coming to mobile device keyboards is sure to be welcomed by social media savvy practices and patients.

Specsavers has worked with emoji creator, the emoji company, to develop four new icons to show that glasses are chic, not geek. The four new icons showed the happy face emoji in different designs including a red cat-eye and a smart tortoiseshell style – markedly different from current options.

The multiple’s social media manager Lucy Abbott said: ‘The only emoji icons with glasses as it stands are the geek and granny which doesn’t fully represent all glasses wearers.’
