Trade magazine Retail Week reports that the multiple is hunting for stores within the M25.
It is also looking to recruit staff from other retail areas - including fashion, food and electricals - to join its fast-track programme which trains staff over a period of six to 12 months.
Specsavers' retail development consultant Dominic Savill told Retail Week: 'Many practitioners who joined the business 20 years ago are now looking for people to bring in to support the retail growth of their business.'
