
Parenting platform Mumsnet has partnered with the Association of British Dispensing Opticians (ABDO), the College of Optometrists and the Optical Suppliers Association (OSA).
This partnership marked a natural progression in the three optical bodies’ efforts to improve the next generation’s eye health outcomes through increased consumer engagement.
‘As a profession and industry, we know the challenges, and yet we have never been better equipped to address the problems of children’s deteriorating vision.
We need to drive awareness,’ a spokesperson for the professional bodies noted.
Mumsnet researchers have analysed nearly 8,000 conversations from the platform over the past five years, uncovering confusion, mixed messaging and concerns around children’s vision.
