In Focus: Mumsnet collaborates with optical community

Parents have a surprising lack of awareness around their children’s vision and knowledge of eye exams, according to a collaborative report by Mumsnet and optical associations. 

Following a comprehensive five-year review of parental and carer conversations on children’s vision and eye health, along with the subsequent survey of 1008 people, Mumsnet spoke out over parents’ confusion and called for support to create greater parental understanding of children’s eye health. 

Initially introduced at 100% Optical in March, Max Halford, clinical and policy director at the Association of British Dispensing Opticians (ABDO) said that the insights gained will enhance the optical community’s ability to target messages about children’s eye health with greater precision.
