Britain is on the brink of a poor vision epidemic due to prolonged use of TVs, mobile devices and VDUs, new research conducted by multiple Optical Express has found.
The report, titled The Glaring Truth: the State of the Nation's Eyes, surveyed UK adults with the aim of understanding their perception of the importance of vision, eye care and their personal lifestyle habits.
Around a quarter of UK adults and 17 per cent of 18-24 year-olds said they had visited an optical practice because their eyes felt tired from TV and PC screen use, compared to only 13 per cent of those aged 65 and over.
