New master of the Spectacle Makers Company

Huntly Taylor has been installed as a new master of the Worshipful Company of the Spectacle Makers.

This was announced at the company’s annual service in St Bride’s Church on Fleet Street, London on October 2. A lunch followed the service, where senior representatives from the Association of British Dispensing Opticians (ABDO) were guests.

Taylor set up his own practice as a dispensing optician in 1993, served on the ABDO council and founded the Eyecare Information Service.

He said: ‘Having been coming to Apothecaries Hall since receiving my Freedom of The Company in 1995, I am very proud to become Master.’
