Johnson & Johnson Vision Care has changed the packaging of its Acuvue 2 range of contact lenses, with a new compact design and easier to handle blister packs. Each box still contains six lenses, but will be 43 per cent smaller. The company says this makes the lenses easier to handle, store and transport for both practitioners and patients. The new boxes are also re-sealable so patients will find them more convenient and portable. The foil blister packaging is designed to allow easier opening and a larger lens bowl makes the lens easier to remove. Johnson & Johnson said the packaging redesign was a response to comments made by eye care professionals and patients and had already received positive feedback. UK managing director for Johnson & Johnson Vision Care Rob Hollin explained the new packaging also benefited the environment.
