StyleMark, a leading American distributor of fashion, sport, and children's sunglasses, has acquired the Polaroid Eyewear International business, the eyewear division of Polaroid Corporation, for an undisclosed sum.

StyleMark said this week that the acquisition was a strategic move and in line with its global expansion plans, which includes distribution in 67 countries.

StyleMark will acquire Polaroid Eyewear's sales and marketing organisation throughout the world, along with manufacturing, R&D, finance, human resources and supply chain activities located in Vale of Leven, Scotland. All 140 Polaroid Eyewear employees will transfer to the new parent company.

'StyleMark is excited about this opportunity to continue our global expansion, extend Polaroid's eyewear brand presence in the US and take advantage of the synergies between the two companies,' said Mark Ascik, chief executive officer of StyleMark.
