Hoya expands its photochromic portfolio with the release of the new Sensity lens

New photochromic Sensity lens from HoyaHoya has expanded its photochromic lens offering with the release of the new Sensity model.

The new adaptive lens uses Hoya’s Stabilight technology to offer consistent performance in different climates and seasons. The manufacturer claimed the lenses darken to a category 3 sun lens faster than its previous photochromic lenses – up to 45 per cent darker after 90 seconds. Fade back was said to be 23 per cent lighter than previous lens models after 1 minute.

‘A microscopically accurate spin coating process tailored to freeform lens production that ensures an even distribution of molecules over the entire lens surface. This results in exceptional performance and extended durability,’ said a spokesperson for Hoya.

The lens has been specifically tailored for freeform surfacing and can be supplied in all Hoya single vision, bifocal and progressive lens designs including the Hoyalux iD range. It can also be combined with all of the manufacturer’s premium coatings.

Two tints are available - bronze brown and silver grey.
