Kent optometrist Gordon Ilett has been appointed as the vice-chairman of trustees at sight loss and disability charity, Seeability.
Ilett became a trustee for charity in 2010 and is recognised as one of the country’s leading experts on eye care and vision for people with learning disabilities.
He will continue to be involved in Seeability’s Children in Focus and Equal Right To Sight campaigns, where the charity is seeking better systems of eye care for children and adults with learning disabilities.
‘I have been working for many years to raise awareness of the importance of eye care for people with learning disabilities,’ said Ilett.
