SeeAbility has announced the appointment of Gordon Ilett as its new chairman.
As an optometrist, Ilett is one of the country’s leading experts on eye care and vision for people with learning disabilities, a national councillor with the AOP and an advisor to the Special Olympics.
He will be joined on the board by consultant ophthalmologist Rachel Pilling, accountant Robert Jeens and James Deeney as the new treasurer.
Lisa Hopkins, chief executive of SeeAbility, said: ‘At SeeAbility we champion better eye care for those most likely to be affected by sight conditions. I am delighted to have expertise from this field so well represented on our board. I look forward to working closely with Gordon and all our Trustees to realise our mission as we embark on our 220th year in 2019 and beyond.’
