Angela Henderson (pictured far right) and Katrina Venerus, charge a fee for a set period of time to carry out VDU screening and invite those who require further investigation to the practice for a thorough eye examination.

The pair set up the Gosforth Eye Company on Gosforth High Street last March with the help of the North-East Business and Innovation Centre (BIC). Henderson said: 'The inspiration for the mobile service came from trying to accommodate customers who found it difficult to keep appointments due to work commitments. We both worked for multiples in the past and it is our philosophy to provide a personal and professional service that combines clinical and commercial aspects. We have recently carried out examinations for a large local accounting company and screened about 120 people. The mobile service has been extremely well received and complements the services we continue to offer at our main practice.'
