
Newmedica has opened an eye health clinic and surgical centre in Ipswich providing ophthalmology services to patients referred for NHS treatments or private consultations.
The clinic has been opened by Raj Hanspal and Usman Hussain, clinical directors and ophthalmology consultants, with Rosemary Smith, operational director, who met while working at a hospital in Bury St Edmunds.
Smith said: ‘We are delighted to be open and are ready and waiting to serve the people of Suffolk. We know that the pressures placed on the health service by the COVID-19 pandemic has led to people waiting far longer than they ideally should have done for treatment, and we are pleased to be able to alleviate some of the burden on local NHS services.’
