British researchers using new techniques in retinal laser imaging have shown that it may be possible to induce the regression of proliferative diabetic retinopathy in more than three quarters of patients by using a less invasive laser technique. The study at Manchester's Royal Eye Hospital and Biomedical Research Centre showed encouraging results for highly targeted laser treatment, guided by Optos ultra-wide field technology.
