Eye care charity, Mission for Vision is appealing for optometrists and dispensing opticians to travel to Kyrgyzstan at the end of May to take part in its volunteer programme. Mission for Vision provides eye care to those living in some of the poorest countries in the world. Each trip is subsidised and costs around £500 for each team member. A further trip to Burundi is scheduled for October this year. Practitioners interested in going on either trip should contact Ian Squire on 01932 226789 or at ian@isoptician.co.uk.

ABDO's CET department has just released a second edition of its Rimless Renaissance CD. Approved for three CET points, the CD includes additional pictures and video clips and has an updated section on glazing. Suitable for OOs and DOs, it includes information on rimless mounts and other less well-known designs and has a revised set of CET questions. Priced at £26, the CD can also be ordered online from the College at www.abdocollege.org.uk.
