Johnson & Johnson Vision Care has launched an improved Acuminder service in an attempt to encourage lens wearers to be more compliant, after research showed that patients are 91 per cent more likely to change their lenses within the recommended period when prompted. The service reminds patients when they need to replace their lenses, purchase new ones or schedule an eye exam. Reusable contact lens wearers can also receive free reminders via text or email.

The International Glaucoma Association (IGA) has launched a poster campaign entitled CAN UC2 DRIVE to mark National Glaucoma Awareness Week (June 6-13). The IGA's chief executive David Wright met with Labour MP Richard Howitt at Wardale Williams Opticians, in South Suffolk, to celebrate the week. The event aims to raise awareness of the condition and encourage the over-40s to have regular eyes tests that include all three glaucoma tests.
