Non-compliance to blame for CL solutions problems

Speaking at the Royal College of Nursing in London, Professor Lyndon Jones of the University of Waterloo, Canada said it was 'unheard of' for two contact lens solutions to be withdrawn within 12 months. Bausch & Lomb's ReNu MoistureLoc was recalled in May 2006 and AMO's Complete MoisturePlus in May this year (News, June 1).

'Both are really good solutions that passed every single test required of them. One of the reasons why these particular products caused these particular problems was non-compliance issues that we would never have predicted,' he said.
