Norville Opticians helped a novice cyclist complete the Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 ride in eight hours earlier this month.

Norville stepped in to supply Greg Power, an independent financial advisor from Cirencester, with a pair of multifocal spectacles to see both the route ahead and his Garmin device.

He had only bought his bike 12 weeks before the race, which he completed for charity, he had not cycled for 40 years.

Dispensing optician and Norville Cirencester practice manager Jo O’Neill said: ‘They were no ordinary specs. They have been designed by Norville specifically for cycling with a varifocal lens which enabled Greg to both see where he was going and then to look down and read his cycle computer, each with crystal clear vision.’
