Norville Bolton staff were ordered from their laboratory premises by police on January 4 following a fire which destroyed a family engineering business just 500 yards away.
Fifty fire fighters tackled the blaze, which forced the closure of a section of the town's Tonge Moor Road. Although some Norville staff returned to work on Friday morning they were again ordered to evacuate due to the risk of exploding gas cylinders.
Norville said its business was unaffected by the blaze: 'We were able to divert incoming telephone calls via Gloucester,' said chairman Frank Norville, adding that the lab had now returned to normal service.
