Oasys 1-Day soon to go toric

Johnson & Johnson to introduce a toric version of Acuvue Oasys 1-Day CL

Johnson & Johnson Vision Care will introduce a toric version of its Acuvue Oasys 1-Day contact lens from June 1.

Acuvue Oasys 1-Day for Astigmatism uses a novel design to maintain the lens’ orientation and, claimed the firm, offer the widest parameter range of any silicone hydrogel daily disposable lens for patients with astigmatism.

As well as offering the proven comfort benefits of the Acuvue Oasys lens and its Hydraluxe technology Johnson & Johnson said the lens’ performance for those with astigmatism is improved through the use of an eyelid stabilised design.

The firm said Hydraluxe Technology uses tear-like molecules and highly breathable hydrated silicone to integrate with the patient’s own tear film. This allows for a stable tear film which helps reduce tired eyes. The eyelid stabilised design uses the movement of the eyelids, to keep the lens in the correct position with the obvious benefits for improved vision.
