Kenneth Bernard Walker died suddenly on Tuesday July 12 aged 50.
Despite his age Walker had worked in optics for over 35 years in various optical labs in and around Manchester and London. During that time he had worked for Pennine Optical, Dollond & Aitchison, Cheshire Optical, Phoenix Optical, Showmans and A H Mertons.
Colleagues described Walker as a charismatic character with a wealth of optical knowledge, a perfectionist and success driven. He was well liked and held in great respect by work colleagues over the years for his quality and pride in his work. He will be sadly missed by his colleagues who offered their sympathies to his family at this sad time.
