T S P 'Powell' Tuck died recently at Cardiff Royal Infirmary after a short illness, aged 87.
Mr Tuck worked at the then Welsh College of Advanced Technology from 1950 until he retired in 1978 as senior lecturer and head of optics. A first-class honours graduate of the University of Wales in mathematics and physics, he was recognised for his contribution to the early development of what is now the department of optometry at the University of Wales, Cardiff.
