OcucoRelcon acquires Timebox

OcucoRelcon announced at Optrafair the acquisition of Timebox Solutions and its management system OpticBox for an undisclosed sum.

OpticBox joins Ocuco-Relcon's existing portfolio including Focus and Acuitas. OcucoRelcon's CEO Al Chetwode said: 'This is a very exciting move for both companies. The OpticBox development philosophy has been very similar to our own - focused on tangible benefits.'

While the market is still seeing new entrants, the more established software companies are consolidating to remain competitive, according to OpticBox managing director Chris Van Buren: 'There are only so many independent practices in the UK, and that means there can only be a few successful suppliers. This acquisition of OpticBox, the recent merger between Ocuco and Relcon and the acquisition of DRS Computing last year mean that we will definitely be one of them,' he said.
