Optegra has appointed Dr Clare O'Donnell as head of its newly created Eye Sciences Division. The division has been created as a not-for-profit arm to develop Optegra's reputation in research and development in eye care services.
O'Donnell has brought over 20 years' clinical and academic experience to the position. She gained a PhD in cornea and contact lenses, as well as an MBA from Manchester Business School. She will be based at Optegra's Manchester and Birmingham eye hospitals and will be responsible for the management of R&D programmes, assessment of new technologies, as well as leadership of various committees and user groups within the organisation.
