A new chair and secretary have been appointed by the Optometric Fee Negotiation Committee (OFNC) after negotiations for 2023/24 general ophthalmic services (GOS) fees concluded.
Paul Carrol from the Federation of Optometrists and Dispensing Opticians (Fodo) and Dr Peter Hampson (pictured) from the Association of Optometrists (AOP) have taken over from Gordon Ilett and David Hewlett.
‘Although it has been very hard, challenging and frustrating work at times, I have very much enjoyed my time on the OFNC and my two years as chair. In handing on to Paul and Peter, David and I are confident that the sector is in very good and experienced hands,’ Ilett said.
