Visiting the optician more was a new year’s resolution for 8% of people, according to a survey conducted by Optical Express.
It was the same percentage, from a sample of 2,000 members of the public, who planned to give up smoking. Three quarters of respondents made resolutions around their health.
Becoming a vegan and eating more pickled onions were some of the other resolutions to be made, a statement said.
Stephen Hannan, clinical services director at Optical Express, added: ‘One in 10 plan to change their appearance in 2019 and an easy way to do this would be to stop wearing glasses which could be achieved by laser eye surgery.’
