Elgin optometrist Robert Black is to retire after 30 years of service with Duncan and Todd Opticians.

Black joined the company in 1982, working at the Forrest Road, Edinburgh branch before moving to Elgin in 1988 with the opening of a brand new practice.

A spokesperson for Duncan and Todd Opticians said Black would miss all of his extremely loyal patients who kept coming back every year, as well as his friends and colleagues throughout the branches.

Black has no plans to leave Elgin and said he was looking forward to spending time in his garden, which is frequented by red squirrels and 20 different species of bird.
