The Medical Contact Lens & Ocular Surface Association (MCLOSA), a specialist interest group within the sub-speciality of cornea and external eye diseases, is for the first time inviting high street optometrists to attend its Annual Scientific Meeting at the Royal Society of Medicine in November.
The Association's remit is to promote and advance knowledge in the diagnosis and management of diseases of the conjunctiva, cornea and sclera. Additionally, it focuses on innovations in contact lens practice, the clinical care and medical management of contact lens wearers, and the role of contact lenses in different eye diseases.
The MCLOSA is also affiliated to the European Contact Lens Society of Ophthalmologists. The annual meeting is expected to draw speakers and delegates from around the world, presenting the latest in research and cutting-edge technology. This year's symposia will be on: Contact lenses, corneal infections and keratoconus. Organisers have applied for CET accreditation which should be confirmed in the coming days.
