NHS optical vouchers available to children, people on low incomes and individuals with complex sight problems to help with the purchase of spectacles will remain at the current value during 2010-11.

Both the Association of Optometrists and the Association of British Dispensing Opticians were unavailable for comment at the time Optician went to press, while the Federation of Manufacturing Opticians and the Federation of Ophthalmic and Dispensing Opticians declined to comment.
