Laser surgery entered into silent auction for RLNI

North Berwick’s lifeboat station has been presented with a laser eye surgery package worth £6,000 by Optical Express. This is the sixth time Optical Express has made such a gift which is entered into a silent auction to help the station raise the £20,000 a year it needs to keep its lifeboat in action.

Over that time the multiple has helped the lifeboat station raise £10,000. Last year the lifeboat was credited with saving two lives and rescuing six. Already this year the lifeboat has been called out four times. Niall Grant, a volunteer crew member at RNLI North Berwick, said: ‘We are extremely grateful to Optical Express for its support.’
