A woman who claims to have been left with severe photophobia after refractive surgery carried out by Optical Express has sued DMC Optical Holdings, the company behind the multiple, for £1m damages.
According to a report in the Mail Online, Stephanie Holloway, claimed not to have been properly warned over the risks of the procedure, which was carried out at Optical Express in Southampton.
Holloway, who has sued for pain, suffering and loss of earnings, was reported to have told the court that she wanted to correct her myopia in an effort to become a police officer. She said she now has to wear tinted glasses most of the time, has been left visually disabled and suffers from clinical depression.
