Optical Express in recruitment drive for 150 optometrists

Optical Express has embarked on a 12-month initiative to recruit 150 optometrists alongside a new remuneration scheme that can offer packages worth over £100,0000 per annum.

The need for optometrists stemmed from significant business expansion and investment in technology over the past 12 months, said the multiple. All optometrists also have the opportunity to become IP qualified, following a partnership with Glasgow Caledonian University to establish an annual ocular therapists course.

CEO David Moulsdale said: ‘Our optometrists are at the heart of our business – they are with our patients at every step of the way. Until now, the value of experienced specialist optometrists hasn’t been recognised or rewarded in a consistent way across the industry – we believe it’s time to change that.’
