Three optical professionals abseiled down the Veolia Water Tower in Harlow Tye, Essex on May 2 to raise funds for Vision Aid Overseas.
Dispensing optician Lee Davis, optometrist David Dickson and education adviser to the Association of Optometrists Karen Sparrow (centre) descended the 110ft structure to raise over £700 for the charity. Sparrow commented: 'The 110ft drop was OK, the most difficult bit was stepping over the edge and then wriggling along so you were hanging on the rim of the water tower with your legs in the air. Having done it once I might even be persuaded to have another go next year.'
