Optical Technician looks to the future

Optical Technician is designed to bring news, products and information on the manufacturing side of the optical business to those technicians working in practices and manufacturing units. Optical Technician has been funded by five companies: Pro Laser UK, Norville, SOS, Essilor and Vision Express, who want to promote information flow to technicians and other support staff within practices. The latest issue includes a report from the US Optical Laboratories' Association meeting in San Diego, a profile of Hilco's Nationwide Frame Repairs and a look at how labs can make rimless glazing more profitable. Over the coming months Optical Technician will look at tinting, a comparison of edging machines, preventative maintenance and carry interviews with leading industry figures. Each issue will also carry news, products and tips and solutions on common problems encountered in the workshop.
