Optician news in brief

Three more optical suppliers have supported the More Patients, More Often - Part One toolkit which shows independent practices how to improve patient recall letters. The toolkit, already sponsored by ABDO, Optician and Independents Day (News 31.05.13), has been backed by Continental Eyewear, Mid-Optic and Norville, who have sent out information leaflets. Frank Norville said: 'Eye care and eyewear unfortunately are still a low healthcare priority. Anything that helps opticians get their message across is most welcome.' See review on pages 30-31.

ABDO College and Canterbury Christ Church University are to host a live eye health webinar for practitioners. The free event will take place on June 20 at 7pm and be followed by a question and answer session with Professor Darren Shickle from the University of Leeds and new ABDO president Peter Black.
