Dry eye products company Altacor has signed an option agreement to be acquired by French pharmaceutical firm NicOx. An initial £2m investment has been made by NicOx to acquire 11.8 per cent of Altacor, which markets prescription and over-the-counter products for the treatment of dry eye in the UK and Ireland. NicOx has a call option to acquire the remaining shares for an additional £9m.
Optical Express has put its name to the forthcoming PGA Scotland golf tour. It will sponsor six events spanning from next month until October. Michael MacDougall, the secretary of the PGA in Scotland, said: 'I'm aware that there have been rumours circulating for some time regarding our involvement in the Optical Express Tour and I am very pleased to confirm that our discussions have had a positive outcome.'
