Opticians raise money for vision loss charity

Skye Optometrists in Harpenden, Hertfordshire has raised £600 for charity celebrating its practice reopening after a refurbishment.

The Hakim Group practice’s refurbishment saw the number of testing rooms increasing to four, new technology and an extended collection of displays. The money raised from raffle donations has gone to local charity Herts Vision Loss.

Director and optometrist Gavin Rebello said: ‘The investment is something that needed to be done and shows we’re here for the long haul; we’re really pleased that this business, that has been fiercely independent for decades, will remain in independent hands. We’d like to thank our team and patients alike who have dug deep and supported us through the building work phase.’
