On the day of the World Cup final in Berlin the Leightons Opticians 10th Annual Optical Football Tournament was held in Eastleigh.
The seven-a-side tournament for the Colin Hamilton Shield was won by Optique, who played Leightons in the final. Optique team captain Peter Bennett received Champagne from tournament organiser Rory Robinson.
Colin Hamilton was the manager of Leightons in Basingstoke until his untimely death from cancer 10 years ago.
