Optisoft fulfils dream

Optisoft has developed a generic spectacle EDI ordering tool which will allow its independent practice customers to place orders from whichever lab they choose.

Managing director Keith Sheers said: 'At Optisoft we have long dreamed of providing what our customers have told us they needed. A system where their dispensing catalogues are kept up to date automatically and they have the ability to send and track resulting orders to all their suppliers, not just one.' All orders are validated on input.

There are a range of electronic ordering systems on the market but they have never been independent, he said. 'Independent practices enjoy using their professional judgement to make an independent decision about which products are best for their patients and who to order them from.
