Independent practices are the target of a survey by Optisoft to reveal to what extent they are using IT technology for management, marketing and clinical advancement.
Optisoft carried out a similar survey three years ago and this time it has included a number of new questions because of the rapid pace of innovation in the IT sector.
'Three years ago we would not have considered that electronic ordering and the availability of electronic lens catalogues would have become the norm for many opticians,' explained Keith Sheers, managing director at Optisoft.
The survey will be mailed to all independent practices and will include questions on their current IT infrastructure and plans for the future, preferred product ordering systems and future expectations of practice management systems. Copies can be downloaded from the web (www.optisoft.co.uk).
